Privacy Setting Checklist

Take our survey on cyberbullying

Use this checklist as you do an audit of your privacy settings:

Review your posts, pictures or other content and make sure that it is still current. Delete anything that is no longer relevant to you.
Check your default sharing settings. Try to limit who can see your posts (i.e. friends).
Review your profile. This includes your email addresses, birthday, hometown, relationship status and other personal details about your life. Make sure this is set to private or remove any other information that is not required.
Review your contacts. Creating a big pool of contacts can be fun but it may not be appropriate to have them all together in one platform. For example, you may decide to keep work colleagues on LinkedIn and personal friends and family in Facebook.
On Facebook: Review your profile picture. Picture profiles are public.
On Facebook: Review photos that you have been tagged in. You can remove tags in Facebook or ask the owner to take it down.
